General Cultural Scholarship Scheme of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)

The General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) is one of the most important and popular schemes of the ICCR for foreign students. Scholarships are awarded under this scheme annually to international students belonging to certain Asian, African and Latin American countries for the undergraduate, postgraduate degrees and for pursuing research at Indian universities. However, scholarships for medical studies for MBBS, BDS or for medical research leading to a Ph.D. degree are not offered under the GCSS scheme.

GCSS (2016-17)

For the year 2016-17, the ICCR has offered one scholarship to Argentina. The Embassy of India, Argentina will accept applications for the same from interested candidates till December 31, 2015.

Who Can Apply: Eligibility Criteria

An applicant interested in the scholarship should:

     Meet the academic or other requirements set by the University for the course s/he is interested in

     Have a working knowledge of English

     Be medically fit

Courses under the GCSS (2016-17)

Candidates interested in the scholarship need to choose three courses in three different Universities. They need to choose the University first and then they have to choose the course from its website. Before applying, candidates should do a thorough research on the courses and the admission requirements set by the Universities.

How to Apply

     After choosing the courses and the Universities, download the application form.

     The completed and signed application form (with a recent photograph pasted on it) which should be typed and not hand written along with the required documents must be e-mailed as a pdf document to the Embassy of India, Argentina.

     6 sets of the application form (with a recent photo pasted on each one of them) along with the required documents should also be delivered to the Embassy of India, Argentina. One extra photo needs to be submitted along with these 6 sets.
